Release Update 0005 – 08.01.20
NEW PatientSource Release – effective Wednesday 8th January 2020, 9pm. What changes will you find?? This one is a biggie, particularly for our prescribers.
ePRESCRIBING:
- Doctors will now have a default view of medications in ePrescribing with stopped medications toggled off. Individuals can still toggle these on as usual.
- Doctors are now able to import prescriptions from previous admissions or episodes. This will involve selecting the relevant past prescriptions and vetting them again for each of the prescription parameters.
- This is to ensure accuracy with prescribing when patients are transferred offsite, readmitted from acute or change episodes of care (i.e. from PDOC to rehabilitation).
- You will see a new option to do this at the top of the medication chart.
- Prescriptions that have an end date, i.e. courses of antibiotics, will now move automatically away from “active prescriptions” after the stated end date.
- This will ensure old courses of anti-biotics are not confused with new ones and do not require someone to stop or cancel the prescription.
- DOCTORS: please note, you should set the end date to be up to 4-6 hours after the last dose is due to ensure nurses will still see the last dose that is due and allow them to sign as administered easily.
- Improvement to the layout of the Additional Information box to make the different sources of the information clearer and easy to read.
eOBSERVATIONS:
- The date and time row for NEWS scores is “freeze framed” as you scroll down the chart to help with navigating the observations chart.
- NEWS2 ACTION FORM: This form now has a prompt to automatically import a patient or resident’s individualised baseline ranges from the NEWS chart that has been set by a doctor.
- This aims to reduce transcription when documenting NEWS2 actions as a result of a triggered score.
- This improves the documentation thoroughness of a clinician’s actions based on a NEWS2 score by having all pertinent information at hand.
- Individual NEWS2 parameters now have “implausible values” attributed to them so that if a simple data entry error has occurred it will flag this to the user to double check their entry. E.g. temperatures that are missing a decimal point showing as 365deg.
GENERAL:
- Print renders of all parts of the record now include the RHN Hospital details in the footer.
- Bug fixes to CaseNotes and editting the last entry when it goes over a page.
